Waterbury Clock Co. brass carriage clock, 7" tall. Brick
design on the front, large sash holding a glass, signed
dial and three hands, seconds not
original. Glass under the handle,
railing around the glass. That means
there are four glasses, all original,
the back is a solid brass, hinged
door, also with brick designs pressed
in the metal. Movement is signed by
Waterbury, tries to run, nothing
wrong with it except is needs some
oil. Bell underneath the case for
hourly striking. Ly-Waterbury #296. $50-$100.

$50
New Haven Clock Co. novelty. Signed clock on the top,
trinket box with hinged lid on the bottom. The clock
does not feel inclined to run. The dial is
surrounded by many large "clear"
stones. Diamonds ? Rhinestones? If
you have any gold you haven't
already sold you can store it in the
trinket box. Novelty is 11" high,
has a good finish. $50-$100.

New Haven Clock Co. banjo clock, "Willis", ca 1929.
Mahogany case is 18" tall, excellent condition, attrac-
tive metal side and top ornaments, decorat-
ed glass panels, bowed glass over the porce-
lain dial, and original and correct hands.
The dial is signed, "12 Day / The New
Haven Clock Co. U.S.A.". Backwind
and set movement, running, is time only.
Ly-New Haven #197. $100-$150.

Homemade shelf clock, ca last 20 years. Not a bad
basement workshop cabinet clock. He used an old 8 day
American movement, Ansonia probably, an Ansonia
gong, an American pendulum bob, and old
hands. I could have probably used
the case for firewood this winter
and got my $50 from the parts.
The case is 23.5" tall, probably
made of birch or light oak, and
stained. He did a good job with
the numerals, and the glass is not
bad. He did not put hinges on the
door, it is held in place with one
nail. It does the job. A bonus, it is
running and striking. $50-$100.

$50
New Haven Clock Co. kitchen clock, one of their
"Merchant Line" of clocks, ca 1911. This oak case is
almost 23" high, complete, wood
pieces all original, designs in the
wood were pressed. The glass is
very nice but no doubt a
replacement. The dial paper was
replaced but the hands, dial rings,
and pendulum look to be correct.
8 day movement strikes half hours
and hours on a Cathedral gong.
Ly-New Haven #1437. $50-$100.

$50
F. Kroeber, New York, wood mantle clock, "Dictator
V.P.", ca 1880. Not an exciting case, but a
style made by several clock compa-
nies in that period. The polished
walnut case is 16.5" high, has
some black trim around the base
and a black door knob. The glass,
knob, and pendulum are probably
original, dial pan and dial paper are
replacements. 8 day movement is
signed Kroeber and is running. Not
a clock to brag about for it needs
some tender loving care to spiff it
up Ly-Kroeber #951. $50-$100.

$50
"John Bull", a reproduction of Bradley Hubbard's
blinking eye clock, ca 1865. This one also
has a quartz movement. I put a battery in
place and it started running. This iron
case is 16" high. $50-$100.

$50
Mini gallery clock, mast metal case is 6.25" across the
back, 4.5" across the top. Original paper dial is signed,
"Patent Lever Escapement", dial ring is
stamped, "Pat.May 10, 56". Not
sure about the "56", it could be
"50", or some date in between.
New putty around the bowed
glass. The little one day move-
ment is clicking very strong, not
signed on the top plate. No label
or any evidence there ever was
one. The cast case, excluding
the bezel, is 2.25" high, designs cast in two sections.
Metal is very dirty black/smoke/ apparently has never
been cleaned. $50-$100.

$50
German RA in a 39" walnut case. Movement and gong
signed by the German clockmaker "Hass
Soehne" of the Black Forest, Germany,
probably ca early 1900's. Some good,
some bad. What about those finials?
They are all glued in place so cannot
inspect them but they sure looks like
additions to the case. There are three
glasses, porcelain beat scale, good
pendulum, original gong base and
gong, and original 8 day movement
that slides into the metal brackets and
held tight by thumbscrews. Dial is
bad, case is dirty, and needs a lot of
TLC to bring it back to being a
decent clock. Surely it is worth our
minimum. $50-$100.

$50
New Haven Clock Co. tambour clock, "Quayle", ca
1913. A very nice solid mahogany case that is almost
13" wide, 6.5" high, clean and
untouched. Brass sash, beveled
glass, signed porcelain dial,
original hands, and key wound
from the back. 8 day time only
movement is running.

$50
Sessions Clock Co. floor standing Mission Clock,
"Antiwerp", ca 1908. The solid oak case stands 6 feet
high, and Sessions called it a "Weathered
Oak Finish". Right now I would call it an
old dirty finish. The dial has raised cast
brass figures, dots, brass hands, and brass
pendulum bob. The movement is 8 day strik-
ing half hours on a Cathedral gong. The durn
thing is running very strong and after read-
ing Session's comments about the clock it
makes you want to keep it. Ly-Sessions
#663. $50-$100.

$50
"Sambo", a reproduction of Bradley Hubbard's 30
hour blinking eye clock made in 1865.
The case is iron, stands 15.5" high.
This case was cast from a mold of an
original and painted to match. This
clock has a quartz movement and
was not made to have the eyes
blink. Original sell around $2000.
I put a battery in this movement
and it did not tick. Aren't the new
quarts movement $5 or less? $50-
$100.

and
key
inside.
