Seth Thomas Clock Co. mantle cabinet clock,
"Prospect No.2", ca 1913. Mahogany veneer case with
shaded marqueterie, standing 13" high.
Dull metal sash, feet, good hands
and original dial. The case has a
coat of shellac or something
similar which to me detracts
from the original finish and the
marqueterie. Correct metal back
door, pendulum, and a key.
Signed 8 day movement strikes a
cup bell on the half hour and a
Cathedral gong on the hours. It
is running and striking. Ly-Seth
Thomas #1655. $150-$250.

E. Ingraham & Co. "Cabinet No.7", ca 1913. This is a
really good looking little clock, the near perfect oak
case standing 15.5" high. The case is
complete, original, clean and
ready to sit on your mantle.
Imitation onyx columns with
metal capitals and bases, origi-
nal glasses, bezel, dial and
hands. The dial ring is porcelain
and is signed, dial center has a
pressed
design
and
the
slow/fast adjuster is also in
that center. Metal back door,
hinged and latches. Label is
near complete on the back just
below the door. 8 day movement, half hour and hour
slow strike on a Cathedral gong. Pendulum and key
with the movement. Ly-Ingraham #433. $200-$300.

Unusual 30 hour weight clock, ca 1835, label reading
as follows: "Brass Clocks / Movement Made By / H.
Welton, / Finished And Sold /
By / M. Blakeslee & Co., / At
The Old Stand Of / Eli Terry, Jr.
& Co. / Terryville, Conn.". The
case is so dark I can only guess
it is mahogany, standing less
than 22" tall, not including the
metal caps over the rollers on
top. Seat board mounted brass
movement is not signed, good
wood dial, old hands, old brass
bob, and a pair of old iron
weights. It has a good label with
a lot of interesting history. $100-$200.

Banjo clock made in a home factory. I bet he had
visions of making thousand like this one. It is 29" tall,
made of walnut, very heavy, solid wood,
and was well constructed. It is a big
looking banjo, large dial, glass, etc. but
behind all that is a dinky little Germany
8 day time and striking movement.
Look how close the winding arbors are
together and that will tell you the size of
the movement. Not much larger than a
quartz movement. Brass bob, good hands,
dial, glasses, etc. It is what it is. $50-
$100.

E. N. Welch, Forestville, Conn., "Column", ca 1855.
This was one of the earliest clocks sold by the E. N.
Welch Company. It was a hold
over from the inventory of J. C.
Brown that was purchased by
Welch in 1855. This clock was
attractively restored, but they cut
some corners. The mahogany
veneer looks very nice, and
where there is no veneer they
stained the wood so it all match-
es. On the top and bottom board
rather than do the stain or veneer,
they used cheap paper veneer
and glued it on. It is ok but when
you look close you can see the
overlapping paper. Columns were painted,
has a new bottom glass, new dial pan, old and correct
iron weights, and a correct pendulum bob. The move-
ment is 30 hour, brass, signed, running but dirty, and
strikes a coil gong. Good clock for the price. Ly-Welch,
page 162. $75-$150.

German "Wag on Wall", ca early to mid 1800's. Brass
weights, brass pendulum and pendu-
lum rod, and brass inlay around the
front of the case. Bowed glass, paint-
ed wood dial, brass dial center, and
brass hands. Bowed dial is 9", octa-
gon case is 13", and wood box holds
the movement. It has wood move-
ment plates and wood doors on each
side of the box. The brass pendulum
is 34" long, bob has etched circles.
The bezel is held in place with a
latch. One of the old weights has a
new hook, chains are old, probably
are original. This is a nice early
clock. $100-$200.

German wall clock, very similar to their RA models,
this one made by Mauthe, ca about 1925. The walnut
case is 43" high, with a top piece
and a bottom finial. I cannot
swear that either is original to
the case. Going by the way it is
made and fits into the slot on top it
may well be original. It has three
good glasses, turned half columns,
a beat scale inside, and a correct
brass pendulum with a five rod lyre
hanger. The 8 day movement is
mounted to a metal back plate, is
signed, "F.M.S.", the Mauthe
trademark. It is running and strik-
ing a coil gong that is mounted
behind the movement on the back
plate. Brass dial ring and inner
dial with pressed designs, original
hands, and a large plastic type dial. The half columns
have lost some finish, but that should be an easy fix. No
door hooks. $150-$250.

Sessions Clock Company miniature wall mission clock,
"Bahama", ca 1910. Unusual small oak
case for a wall mission, standing
only 19" high. It is complete, orig-
inal, clean, and in excellent con-
dition. Sessions called the case,
"Weathered Oak Finish". It has
raised cast metal figures and a
brass pendulum. There is a nice
paper label on the back. The 8 day
time only movement is signed and
running great. Ly-Sessions #651.
$100-$150.

French mantle clock, tambour style, 11" wide, 9.5"
high. Unusual looking
wood but I will call it
mahogany, but is very
light for mahogany, more
the color of walnut.
Porcelain dial and a nice
pair of French hands. One
small chip at the winding
arbor. Beveled glass in the
plain brass sash. Round
wood back cover, hinged
but no screws holding it, just fits snugly in the round
back. Lots of provenance on the back of that cover.
Round French 8 day, time only movement, is not
signed. Old French winding key and pendulum inside.
$100-$200.

E. N. Welch Mfg. Co. parlor clock, "Valda", ca 1889.
Nice clean walnut case is 21" high, complete and orig-
inal. Everything is correct including the glass, pendu-
lum, dial, hands, and the 8 day move-
ment. It is running and striking a
gong on the half hours and
hours. If not for three small
paint flakes on the dial, and the
missing label, the clock would be
near perfect. Ly-Welch #457. $100-
$150.

United Clock Co. "Ballerina", ca 1955. A lot of enter-
tainment for the price, a
dancing ballerina twirls
to music. She is on a
stage that is lighted and
reflective. There is a
running clock, all the
electric parts are func-
tioning properly, the
lights, clock, music,
and the dancer. $75-
$150.
