French bow front crystal regulator, ca 1885. The move-
ment is signed, "H & H / A . 1 / Made In France". It is
a typical French round movement,
8 day, striking a hanging coil gong,
and it is running. Live mercury pen-
dulum, original French hands, near
perfect one piece porcelain dial.
The clean/polished brass case is
10.75" high, have four beveled
glasses, bow front glass is perfect as
are the two side glasses, but the
back glass has a very tiny corner
chip. Both doors have the original
knobs. There is an unexplainable
small hole in the back right corner in
the floor of the case, about pencil size. $400-$600.

Ansonia Clock Co. crystal regulator, "Rouen", ca 1914.
Gold plated case is 11" high, slightly rounded on top, a
plain case as Ansonia crystal regu-
lators go, hence the low mini-
mum. The case is clean and lightly
polished, both doors have correct
knobs, four turned feet underneath
and it has four beveled glasses. All
the glasses are fine but the back
glass has a couple of tiny corner
chips. All the glasses seem loose
which leads me to believe the case
was disassembled for cleaning
and polishing. One piece porce-
lain dial is very good, correct pair of hands,
and the correct imitation mercury pendulum. One of the
glass vials is buggered a little, but there is no harm. 8
day signed movement runs and strikes a hanging gong
on half hours and hours. Ly-Ansonia #372. $300-$500.

$250
French wall clock, ca 1895. A most unusual and attrac-
tive wall clock, unlike any we have ever seen. There is
a large portico that extends forward
over what would be a normal
case. The portico extension is
about 5" deep, and the depth of
the entire clock is 10". The walnut
case is 31" high, has full reeded
columns, baluster rows top and
bottom, carved sections, and a
viewing glass in the lower section.
The dial is wood with porcelain
numerals, and the original hands.
8 day gong striking movement is
complete and operational however
the pendulum appears to be a bit
short as it does not extend down to
the glass. Apparently needs a
longer metal rod. The early move-
ment is held to the mount with long tapered pins. The
case is complete, clean, polished, and appears to have
no replaced parts, at least none of significance. $300-
$500.

E. Ingraham & Co. banjo clock, "Treasure", ca 1934.
Collectors call the clock "Treasure Island". The label on
the back says it is "Treasure Duplex". This is a pretty
decent banjo, only a couple of flaws. The
bowed glass over the dial is missing. One of
our roaming clock dealers put this clock off
on me and promised to send the correct
glass. Now he won't even answer his
emails. Wait until the next time he visits
the pawn shop. You can order the bowed
glasses from Timesavers or any of the supply
houses, and that will complete the clock.
The original hanger on the back has been
replaced with a makeshift hanger, but it
works fine. The solid mahogany case is
39" high, has solid brass eagle, side rails,
and bezel. Both glasses are original, same
with the pendulum bob, latches, etc. The
movement is 8 day, two rod duplex strike.
Perfect metal dial is signed, hands are correct.

Seth Thomas Clock Co. "Chime Clock No.12", ca
1909. There is a lot of potential for this clock, but it
does need some help. First, there is
no glass in the bezel. Second, the
silver dial has recessed numerals
with black paint. A lot of the
black paint is missing. That is an
easy fix. The 16" oak case is
complete but has had no TLC in
some time. As low down on the
repairman list as I am, I could do
those things and increase the
value of the clock substantially,
but I will not deprive you of the
fun. The double movement is
complete, plays Westminster chime every 15 minutes
and strikes the hours on four bells. We did not run the
movement or chimes; they are complete and come with
a correct pendulum and a key. The Sonora movement is
marked 90A, I do not see right off a number on the run-
ning movement. Ly-Seth Thomas #432. $300-$500.

Ansonia Clock Co. enameled iron case, "Rosalind", ca
1904. First made in 1880 with
"Rosalind" statue on top of the
case. Later made without her
statue, but instead a small cast
bust of her below the dial.
Both models had her in full
length adorning each end of
the case. The enameled
iron case is 15.25" wide
and 12.25" high, probably
repainted, but the gold was
not put back in the etchings. I have been told it is sim-
ple to put the gold in the etched designs, but I am not
that simple. Beveled glass, brass sash, brown and gold
dial, correct hands, and an open escapement. The
movement is 8 day, striking hours and half hours on a
gong, access the pendulum hanger from underneath,
correct pendulum taped to the back of the case, and
most of an original label on the back that identifies this
as the "Rosalind". For some reason the label reads,
"One Day Strike". Not true, it is 8 days. Ly-Ansonia,
page 269. $300-$500.

New Haven Clock Co. mantel/weight clock, ca 1881.
What a shock when this clock came in. I thought it was
just another walnut shelf clock.
Surprise! It is a double weight,
powering a seat board mounted
brass movement that is 1 day,
time and strike. New Haven tout-
ed it as the smallest weight clock
made. I would not know, but I
guess it is feasible. The 24" high
walnut case has a lot of pizzazz,
numerous etched designs and
some attractive jig saw designs. It
is complete and clean, and the
painted door glass is original.
On the back of the case is a par-
tial label. Without that label it
would have taken me a long time to identify the clock
for the brass movement is not signed, but it is original
to the case. The two piece painted dial is good, correct
hands, and brass dial rings. I cannot say for certain that
the nice brass pendulum or the iron weights are original
to the clock, and I feel certain that the dial board was
replaced. It is still an unusual and very early clock. Ly-
New Haven, page 318. $250-$350.

Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. mantel clock, "Una Mantel",
ca 1881. This is another unusual walnut cased clock,
24" high, with some very prominent,
eye catching characteristics. Tulip
finials, six of them, around the
top, a lot of etched designs, and
just some very attractive case
configurations. The glass is origi-
nal and identical to the one shown
on this clock in the books. Partial
label on the back. Outstanding
Gilbert cut glass and brass pendu-
lum, nickeled Cathedral gong
base, nickeled dial rings, good
hands, and the original paper
dial with nominal wear. A very
attractive clock. Ly-Gilbert

Mastercrafter "Lava Tube", electric novelty clock. I
guess no one asked me, but to me, this is the cr me de
le cr me of Mastercrafter clocks. I
have only had 2-3 others so they are
very rare. Because of the white case
and light colors inside it is difficult
to see the tube inside the clock,
below the dial. There are silver
flakes in the bottom of the tube. The
tube is filled with some kind of liq-
uid and as it heats up the flakes
float to the top and all around.
The white plastic case is 11.5"
high. The clock is running, the
light burns in the bottom of the
tube, and the silver floats. This one is near perfect, and
the electric cord is like new. It has surely been in a
drawer for 50 plus years. $300-$500.

Ansonia Clock Co. crystal regulator, "Coral", ca 1914.
The polished brass case is 9.75" tall, clean, with light
wear and/or tarnish, but still has a good look. It has four
very good beveled glasses, no chips
or cracks, front and back doors with
original knobs. Two jar imitation
mercury
pendulum,
hanging
Cathedral gong, excellent one piece
porcelain dial and correct hands. The
dial is signed by Ansonia. Round 8
day movement is signed, running,
and clean. Ly-Ansonia #377. $200-
$300.

Mastercrafter "Waterfall", electric novelty clock. The
clock runs, the light behind the waterfall
is burning and turning which simu-
lates water falling. Case decorated
with pine trees and pine foliage. It
has a very good electric cord. Like
most Mastercrafter clocks it also is
11" high. $100-$150.
